Tune in to Twitter to Thursday Night Football

Twitter Inc. might become the new way to watch Thursday Night Football games instead of going out with your friends to a bar or to the game itself. According to the National Football League, Twitter obtained the rights to stream 10 of the 16 regular season games even though they offered the least amount of money.
Twitter will show pregame video coverage of the players, the entire game, extended live coverage, and a barrage of sports tweets from fans and the athletes. This is a big step for Twitter as its user growth declined throughout the past few months. Twitter’s audience is still approximately 800
million, but with this new offer begins they expect it to increase extremely.
With the increasing amount of audience members and professional athletes tweeting, this will increase the ad usage of Twitter, which is their primary source of revenue. Twitter will receive 15 advertising slots to sell during each of the 10 games it is showing. The NFL chose Twitter because it would create popularity to its sports fans and open up to a broader audience. Tune in next season via Twitter to the opening football games!

  1. Weird that Twitter obtained the rights to stream even though they offered the least amount of money, but it's probably more popular

  2. This would really help football fans such as myself to conveniently watch games without having to find a TV. Twitter will also see an increase in users as most football fans would be attracted to the game streaming feature.
