Zara turns to Robots as In-Store pickup

Zara, an international apparel company, has begun facilitating in-store picks ups by having robots do the work! Earlier this year Zara announced of a new and efficient way for customers to retrieve purchased online products in stores. Instead of waiting in long lines or having to struggle with being helped Zara is planning on having a run and click system where robots would do the behind the scene work. How this would work is that the costumer would scan a bar code provided to them upon purchasing the products online and the robot will retrieve the package from a warehouse and deliver it to a drop box. Zara developed this idea since it faces a strong competition from retail stores like ASOS and Zalandos, which sale various brands. The first store to open with this new system was in Spain and Zara plans on opening other locations with time.  Zara hopes that this system will also brings customers to buy more clothes once they are in the stores picking up their orders.
