Microsoft Joins the Home-Speaker Party With Invoke

Microsoft Joins the Home-Speaker Party With Invoke

A year after Amazon released Echo, Microsoft decided to launch its own home-speaker, Invoke, through a partnership with Samsung Electronic Co's. Since Microsoft entered the market late, they believe that the unique features they have added to their product will persuade customers to buy Invoke. Its cost range begins at $50. Cheaper than its competitors who start around $100. The unique features consists on having compatibility with "the Office franchise and Skype internet calling". For example, customers will be able to add appointments to their Outlook calendar and know the time and place for meetings.

Invoke can be considered to be in the market introduction stage of the life cycle of a new product because Microsoft is still in the process of introducing the product. Also, sales will begin on Sunday October 22, 2017. Right now, Microsoft is focusing on telling potential customers what Invoke does including its advantages such as its compatibility with the Office franchise and Skype. In order for Microsoft to move up to the market growth stage, it will need to be making sales and eventually will decline.
