Microsoft Joins the Home-Speaker Party With Invoke

Microsoft Corp.’s Invoke home speaker features the Cortana voice assistant and integration with the Office suite and Skype.

Microsoft's Clone of Amazon Voice Enabled Speaker

There are news that Microsoft is launching a voice-enabled speaker, named Invoke. It will basically have the same functions as the Amazon Echo speaker which includes Alexa as the intelligent personal assistant, but Microsoft will include Cortana as their assistant.

The Invoke speaker does not introduce any new technology because there no new presented features. It seems that maybe people who already use Cortana, Microsoft's virtual assistant, are the potential target market for this product because you are able to schedule your meetings, appointments, etc.
It is also important to consider prices. This new speaker, Invoke, will cost $199, whereas the Echo speaker by Amazon has different size speakers that range as low as $50.

Also, in the article it was stated that Apple will also launch a voice-enabled speaker which is not great news for the Microsoft team. We all know that Apple marketing is significant and will overthrow Microsoft’s product.

This relates to marketing in the aspect that Microsoft is Amazon’s competitor and it arose when Amazon’s product is in the Market Maturity stage which is where most competitors arise.
