Movies play a major roll when it comes to toy sales. The hype for this years new movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has created an ongoing growth in its revenue. It has been ten years since the last 'Star Wars' movie came out and over the years Disney took over. Disney created more characters and implemented "Force Friday", an event that trumpeted the released of 'Star Wars' toys. Retailers like Walt-Mart, Target, and Toys' R Us are now increasing their shelf space for these toys. Other popular toys related to kids movies like "Frozen" and "The Ninja Turtles" have decreased in sales due to the demand. Disney Co. is really pushing the advertisement of the movie with these toys since they paid a high amount for the brand and hope to gain more profit as the holidays come around. Analyst claim that with the increase in sales for "Star Wars' toys they expect one of the best holiday seasons in over a decade. This topic is interesting because sometimes one may not be as interested in a movie, but end up getting convinced by the displays in stores.

I am so excited for this movie to come out. I can totally see how analyst predict higher sales.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that they have managed to target a whole new and young audience with these promotions! There are young kids who have never seen a Star Wars movie, but they are buying the merchandise!
