Nestle and Unilever are noticing that consumers are favoring organic and vegetarian foods. Nestle bought a company that makes plant-based meat substitutes like "Benevolent Bacon" and "Harmless Ham". While, Unilever bought a small company that makes tea using organic herbs. Nestle is considering buying Sweet Earth company since it has a great channel distribution being on extensive chains like Amazon, Whole Foods, Target, Kroger and Walmart Stores. Unilever bought Pukka, which is slowly increasing revenue yet, it is rapidly growing and hoping to create higher revenue in the next couple of years.
Some consumers of these two companies don't believe that this natural organic small companies will create a high impact on these two enormous companies. Years before the idea of creating a vegetarian and organic culture seemed impossible but, by these two companies investing in these type of companies means that there is a progress and consumer dollar votes are noted. The more accessible these foods will be, the more easy it is to create this animal-friendly, healthy lifestyle culture that vegetarians dreamed of. There is a possibility that these small companies can shape our culture in the food industry and, Nestle and Unilever would seem to benefit greatly from thinking ahead.
