Every big retail store has stepped up its online game to be able to compete against the biggest online shopping website. Amazon has started to take over everything. Whatever you need is available at your fingertip. From Ice to designer bags it is available online and in your hands the next day without getting out of the house.
Walmart has started to set up ads to make buying what is needed easily. Social media has become the most useful way of putting out advertisements. Companies have started using social media more to put their products out there for people to see.
Walmart is now starting to set up Ads where people can see similar items to what they have purchased before on social media and as soon as it is clicked on it will take you directly to the website. I personally have clicked many Ads on my Instagram feed and bought many items due to the way it was advertised. The timing and placement of the Ad were perfect.

The online market has become a huge phenomenon in the era. The way they are now working their marketing strategies is perfect, like you said, there are many times when a simple ad makes you spend money without you even thinking about it. In other words, those Instagram ads are dangerous for our pockets, but great for the merchants.
