Online retailer Amazon.com is inviting people to an office in New York to measure small changes in body size and shape.
Summary: Amazon wants to know their customers waist size. They are doing research into waist growth and development over the course of about 20 weeks. And in doing so, it will allow for them too prevent customers from returning clothes because they don't fit.

Analysis: The idea is kind of strange but i think it can be effective and efficient in the long run. Amazon is doing a great job of making sure the customers feel like individuals. As oppose to ordering a jean size, you can get scanned and that will allow for a more detailed and custom type feel to your order. I think the 3D body scan will definitely bring in more revenue for the company and limit items returned which will lead to customer satisfaction.

  1. It's crazy to see how modern these companies are getting. We already have shoes that automatically fit to our shoes, and we might have clothes that adjust with just pushing a button.

  2. that is a very interesting idea but i also think it is quite the gamble. i don't think that 3d scanning is a cheap investment, so if they do decide to go for it and it does not work I'm not sure it would be good for the company.
