Everything is Better With Trucks

Recently, Ford Automobiles has announced that they were going to reduce the production of SUV’s because of an 11% decrease in sales. Although they are losing profit from producing sedans, the consumer consumption of large trucks has increased. A survey has concluded that consumers tend to gravitate towards larger cars. For example, in Texas many people drive trucks because of how easy it makes it to transport more items and people. From the number of consumers buying larger cars, the company has concluded that it would be beneficial for the company to focus on creating large cars that are more fuel efficient. Ford as a company looked at the four Ps (Product, Place, Promotion, and Price).

Ford saw that the product (SUVs) were decreasing in sales within the United States (place). For the company to get rid of the SUVs they have prompted what they have in stock. Ford plans on decreasing the production of SUVs to focus on what is making profit to their company. They are focusing on innovating a product to make the consumer want their new product. In my opinion, I think that Ford should focus on making affordable trucks that are fuel efficient. In the beginning of time, Ford’s motto has been producing cars that are affordable to middle class consumers. The reason why I chose this article was because being from the suburbs the number of consumers that prefer larger cars is greater than smaller car consumers. Therefore, I believe that it is important on improving products that will not only benefit the producer, but also the consumer.

  1. Personally I believe trucks are a better investment for people living in Houston! You never know what the weather is going to be like and when it rains various places start to flood. Lower cars or SUV's have more difficulty getting around especially when they are caught right in the middle of the rain. The good thing is that now many truck company's such as Ford,Toyota , Chevy, ect.... are making them fuel efficient.
