Forget the Ferrari-at Concours d'Lemons, People Polish Up the Pintos

This article was interesting to me because it shows that, for once, car shows are not all about having the most expensive or nicest cars. This car show is the exact opposite. They give many different awards just like typical car shows do, but they give the awards for different things like "Worst In Show" and "Most Dangerous". One of the best quotes from the article was when Ryan Walch said "The best car I've ever owned." about his 2004 Pontiac Aztec. The aztec is known to be one of the "ugliest vehicles ever built."

This article applies to what we learned in class by the marketing mix. This car show helps broaden the area of people that can join into car shows by selecting the non-millionaires and allowing them to enter into the car show, thus having them as their target market. This car show helps people that are not able to afford million dollar vehicles, to be able to join in the thrills of car shows and winning awards for the different vehicles that they own. The car show is appealing to all kinds of people, attracting many different people, by allowing them to see all the different cars that were possibly black sheep of their time.
