Have you ever ran out of characters while you tweet? Or had to use acronym after acronym to express your thoughts? Well not for long. Twitter Inc. is now considering a project called "140 Plus," in which they hope to figure out ways to increase the 140-character limit. Although still unclear, the project gears for a better user experience while giving the user more space for creativity and longer news worthy tweets.

Despite the constant battle between other social media networks, twitter is raising the standards by looking at a broader vision. Twitter's CEO candidate is pushing their product team to rethink the fundamentals of the service they provide. The product team is playing a major role for the 140 Plus project as their goal is to develop new features for twitter on a longer-form content. They're also launching other projects that are more appealing and helpful to the user. For example, Project Lighting, which allows the user to have a collage style feed filtered with the most up to date stories.

This is a chaotic world we live in, and 140 characters just isn't enough. It is easy to use "Thx" or "btw," but It is difficult to find a tweet that includes all the details without being sent to different links to get the full content. Twitter's purpose is to reflect on what surrounds us and keep us well informed. If we have 140 Plus characters don't you think It will allow for us to have a deeper, more coherent content? Or will the extent of characters push you away from reading a long summary?
