Twelve days after Walt Disney Co.'s "Avengers: Endgame" entered theatres, it became the seconf-highest-grossing movie of all time, reaching nearly $2.19 billion in global box-office revenue.

"Endgame" took just 11 days to reach $2 billion in sales and is the fifth movie to surpass $2 billion, according to Box Office Mojo. Marvel Studios' last installment, a three-hour epic, is marketed as a cumulation of more than 20 comic-book movies featuring myriad superheros. This interwoven storyline has collected an estimated $619.7 million in the US and Canada. After these records came to light, it is apparent that "Endgame" will soon become the most successful film of all time. With $576 million coming from China, "Endgame" has become the most popular imported film in China's history. According to the RealD numbers, ticket sales are set to pass $1 billion by Monday.

To top the top-grossing film of all time in North America, "Endgame" would need to exceed the $936 million collected hit "Star-Wars: The Force Awakens". With "Endgame" expected to swallow up much of the attention and available screens, rival studios chose to release smaller films, films they hoped to appeal to moviegoers that are not interested in Marvel.

I chose this article because of my brother. My brother is a hardcore Marvel fan and has seen every single Marvel movie leading up to the "Avengers: Endgame". This article is related to Marketing because of rival studios. Rival studios are forced to appeal to the individuals that are not interested in Marvel. Since many individuals have followed the Marvel series since their adolescence, the individuals that are not interested in the Marvel series are very low. By becoming the second highest paid movie of all time, consumers will want to purchase more Marvel products, increasing the revenue of Marvel Studios. With Marvel Studios' revenue increasing, many individuals will want to buy stock for Marvel Studios, increasing their profit.

  2. Great article, I am a fan and I agree with your statements. Another reason why Marvel is able to obtain more fans has to do with their execution of movies. Initially, their rival is DC movies, but Marvel was able to reached a greater audience with their great stories, plots and amazing actors that play the superheroes. Now people are curious of what's next, since this chapter has been close with "Avengers: Endgame" (2019)
