Don't Just "Buy Now"! When Shopping on Amazon, You Need to Pay Attention.

Roy Arguello is a Prime member that ordered a ladder on Amazon. He was not only excited about the price, but also the free delivery information. However, a week later, he received a different kind of ladder, and it was broken. Furious, he started the return process but multiple sites did not want to take that 38-pound ladder. After speaking with the seller, Mr. Arguello finally received a refund.

There are several cases related to the Mr. Arguello's one that we are not aware of until it happens to us. Katherine Bindley, the author of the article shares with us some things we should know before buying anything on Amazon.

What Two-Day Shipping Does (and Doesn’t) Mean.

Amazon prime has so many benefits such as streaming videos, discounts at Whole Foods, and the two-day shipping option that most people love. However, that two-day shipping option does not seem to really mean two days. It usually takes four, five to six days before the package arrives, or it requires additional charges to arrive in two days.
An amazon spokeswoman said that the processing time is usually affected by some restrictions such as oddly shaped items to the airplane, or an item available at a far-away location. She also said that billions of products were delivered in two days in the U.s. and more than 100 million items were eligible for Prime two-day shipping.
Know that it is always better to shop when logged in for the shipping times to remain the same at checkout.
 Prime Isn’t Always From Amazon

Sellers can buy Prime badges to sell their products. Once a customer's item is ready, they can ship it on their own instead of paying Amazon to do so.

Amazon choice is not always the best. We often think that if we buy a product online or amazon, it will be cheaper. However, it is not always the case. Some Amazon's best deal are often more expensive than the actual price in store.

I found this article interesting because we usually don't pay attention when we want to buy things online. What happened to Mr. Arguello can happen to everybody else. This is why we have to adopt the customer decision making process to help us making the right choice. First, the customer has to analyse the problem or the need. In this case, Mr. Arguello needed a scale. Then, he searches for places where he can find what pleases him. It can be online on amazon, Groupon; or in store such as Walmart, HEB, Target. Third, the customer evaluates what is the best price or quality, depending on his needs. He then, evaluates his decision, to make sure that it is the best one or if it is worth it.
