Kudos for plus size fashion
What
ever happen to the little companies in fashion? All the successful companies are the big
fortune 500 companies that been in business for a long time such as Ralph
Lauren (POLO), Kate Spade, Vera Wang. As
for the fashion designers that trying to get the piece of the pie, has to use
alternative way into get their recognition into the business of fashions. Patrick Yee is an
executive vice president for marketing and strategy at Refinery29, is leaving
the women’s lifestyle-focused digital media publisher to join fashion ad agency
Laird & Partners as chief executive.
Mr. Yee teamed up with Lane Bryant and American Eagle. He understands the average size of women at
plus size of 10 and above. Advertising has been strictly commercialized on sex appeal
and thin and perfect size woman. Today,
multimedia has been the cornerstone for the success of companies. Mr. Yee, has taken full advantage of ways of
fashion has taken the next level and average people are now seeing that all
sizes are just as good the models that poses in them. The Refinery29 is the upcoming of company to
watch for in the years to come.
This is a great way of promotion. With so many companies using extremely skinny models, it causes people to have an unrealistic, unhealthy idea of "the perfect body." By using average sized models, I think it would help people be more motivated about themselves to become healthy instead of going for unhealthy standards to become skinny.
