Facebook Ad Campaign Will Urge Users to Stream Live Video

                                         PHOTO: FACEBOOK

Oh Snap! Watch out Snapchat. Instead of recording and sending a 10-second video like one app does, Facebook is making it possible for people to live stream their experiences. So how is Facebook going to reach out to their customers?

  • TV ads
  • Billboards
  • Tutorials from social network users
  • Paying publishers and public figures to use Facebook Live

Interesting: This new feature that Facebook is incorporating to their business has already been in use for important events. One event that Facebook Live has taken part of is the presidential  debate. Not only that, Facebook Live has helped people get their statement heard like the democrats who did the sit-in in congress.

Relevance: To promote their services, Facebook is taking the mass selling path. The way they are reaching out to a mass amount of customers is by advertisement and publicity. For advertising, Facebook is using TV ads, billboards, and paying publishers and public figures to promote thier service. For publicity, they are having social network users give tutorials of how to use Facebook Live. Out of the four types of marketing opportunities, Facebook has taken the product development approach when launching Facebook Live in April. Current, Facebook is taking the marketing development approach since it is going to into new markets like live streaming the presidential debate.

Influence: Facebook Live will give businesses the opportunity to reach out to a bigger audience and gain more customers. For example, Artists can live stream their show, which will give others the chance to view their show and become a fan. To gain more viewers for their  movie or show, Actors and Actresses can live stream a Q&A with fans.
