Who says you can't have the best of both worlds?
It has been official that Starbucks and Nestle are now partners to essentially increase sales in both ends. According to the article on WSJ "Starbucks Sells Nestle the Rights to Offer its Coffee in Stores" written by Brian Blackstone and Julie Jargon, published on May 7th, 2018, Nestle will from now on be found in Starbuck stores.
This kind of business plan made is very common in many industries. When sales decrease, it is easier to partner with another industry to boost sales in order to get back in the game. In this case, Nestle decided to pay Starbucks $7 billion in order to let them merge and have their coffee in stores. Marking for both of these industries will be simple as they are both well known and pretty similar. Target audience in this case, will increase due to the different audiences I'd assume these two industries have. I would say Nestle's target audience focuses on children and elderly while Starbucks is more of teens and adults.
The partnership between these two industries will benefit them both and hopefully bring them both up to higher sales.Written by: Aimee Murillo
