DoorDash leading the online-delivery market

     The online-delivery market seems to be growing more and more each time. With so many players like Doordash, Uber eats, Postmates, and Grubuhb, everyone seems to be hopping on the bandwagon and using these services more often. Doordash is leading the online food-delivery market in terms of total consumer spend. The online delivery market is currently worth $8 billion annually. You might be asking yourself what the difference is between these services? They all do the same thing, they deliver food to those who are lazy or cant go out to pick up themselves some food. Doordash is known to have a bigger selection of restaurants, especially more on the high end that are in urban areas--says to be the reason why it receives many valuable orders. Grub Hub and Postmates is more commonly used in rural areas. According to Edisons estimates, the Doordash market share has doubles in the last 12 months. While Doordash is showed significant increase in its market share, Grubhub is decreasing at about 11% points of market share. These online delivery markets are not only benefiting themselves, but also the restaurants and food chains that people order from. This means businesses for everyone. Without these delivery companies, the people would not be ordering food from the restaurants. This means more sales for both parties and of course a satisfied customer with food to enjoy. This kind of marketing is implemented to benefit more than one person, but compete with those who are in the same online-delivery market.
I chose this article because I used these services a lot, especially when I am too lazy to go out and get stuck in traffic all for some delicious food. I always questioned what the difference was between these. I usually go for Postmates but will now explore what kind of restaurant Doordash has to offer.
