Currently, hospitals are facing a large problem. They are getting flooded with patients while also trying to contain the spread of the virus. Due to this event, hospitals are relying on artificial intelligence. Patients with COVID-19 are being kept away from staff and monitored with AI sensors which monitor and predict patient's conditions. Moreover, incoming patients are undergoing face scanning in some hospitals. These screenings can detect if a person has a fever or other symptoms.
I decided to write on this article because it deals with current events that the whole medical industry is facing, and I believe this is important information to know.
This article relates to marketing because it shows that hospitals have big social responsibilities. While many other employees in other fields are able to work from home, doctors, nurses, and other medical staff are all putting their lives at risk in order to help society get through this pandemic. Moreover, it relates to the external market environment with the introduction of the new and current AI in hospitals.
Reading this, one gets a sense of the impact AIs can have in our lives - right now, they are being used to help save lives, but the tech necessary to do this has applications in many of areas outside of medicine. Constant monitoring of such things as patient vital signs and drawing predictions about their treatment outcomes by AI can transition quite easily into areas like market analysis or crisis management.
