Quarantined, but Still Logged On

With the spread of coronavirus, also known as CONVID-19, the world has been on the edge. Amid all its threats, the tech world has also started to adapt as a result. Precautionary measures have forced the companies to convert to undertake a massive experiment in telecommuting is underway.  Workers are being asked by the companies to work from remote areas, without the necessary equipment or help from local IT persons to resolve tech bugs. At the same time, it has demonstrated that it can be a blessing in disguise for those who think interruptions at an office can slow them down. And such a business model may be on the cards for some companies even after the threat of the virus has passed. Remote-working technologies that were in their initial phase at the start have been pushed to their limits to test their potential. Natural calamities and pandemics like a recent virus can prove to be a catalyst for such a process to take place. Businesses and governments are forced to work remotely in such cases. These actions can have multiple benefits, ranging from profitability to sustainability. For some, it can be a cause of boredom as they prefer interaction with coworkers. In order to go remote, one has to have to right set of abilities and conditions, which include the right tools for the job, self-assessment, fast-thinking process, online meeting tools, policy check, surety of commitment, and staying social.
This topic interested me as being a manager, it is kind of related to the style of my job. I had to deal with such cases earlier. It would be interesting to see what impact remote-working exercise can have on businesses around the world. As far as marketing concepts are concerned, it is related to the role of technology in work. And it has the potential to spread to various kinds of businesses ranging from teaching to counseling.
