During this pandemic face mask are super important they don't just prevent you from getting the disease but it also helps from spreading around more. Most makes that are used are the N95 styled mask and state officials are noticing that some mask don't have the best quality. They are noticing that imported mask are allowed in more tiny particles than US standards normally permit. This does not only affect us but also the workers that are using the mask because they are also at risk. This includes nurses and doctors who are at the front lines in helping people with this diseases, although these mask are very necessary they are not cheap and are getting sold at a very high price therefore they expected to have the best quality to keep us safe. Some could distinguish the authentic mask from the form it would go around your ear but not everyone could and thats the issue. These mask should be protecting us not putting us in more risk especially workers.

Just a guess here, but I wonder if consumers are willing to use these lower quality masks in order to just have something. Maybe consumer standards have been lowered for these masks because they are planning on also using a cloth mask over them? I know this is not how N95 masks were originally designed to be used, but this is just my guess.
