Shake Shack Pauses Rapid Growth

Shake Shack has put on hold new restaurant openings because of the coronavirus pandemic. Shake Shack said sales have improved but are still below last year's levels after they were required to only serve as a to-go business. Out of the 287 restaurants, around 78 of them were temporarily closed entirely. They have been affected more than fast-food chains like McDonald's because of their lack of drive-throughs However, they've added more delivery providers to boost sales.

I find this interesting because there are thousands of businesses around the world that had planned to grow, expand or even begin, and the coronavirus pandemic has got in the way of all those plans. That means our economy has been put on pause as well. Businesses are now having to be even more creative and innovative when reaching out to their intended audience in order to make sales.

  1. This is very true, many businesses have lost future opportunities for growth and have had to halt their progress because of the pandemic. It will be interesting to see how many of these companies actually survive and how this will change their outlook.
