There has been an outbreak of Corona virus in different regions across Europe. So far, it has caused 17 deaths in Italy, 650 positive tests in Italy, 38 confirmed cases in France, and 44 cases in Germany. This has questioned the way things are being done and is impacting the sociocultural, economic, and technological aspect of the marketing external environment.

Public gatherings, such as important soccer games, and the most famous fashion shows from highly recognized brands have particularly been affected this past week. In France, there was the Juventus soccer game for which more than 3,000 Italians were coming in a bus from Turin, city nearby the outbreak  of Corona virus. This caused France to put into question the safety of their citizen's health due to Italians coming over to watch the game. The mayor of Lyon France, requested that the Italians did not come to the game because they want to prevent further outbreaks, but fans did not listen because they were supported by the Juventu's team manager. Other important soccer games from other teams, such as Internazionale from Milan and the Irish Rugby Union, are been held at closed doors while others are cancelled.

In addition, the famous fashion show from Giorgio Armani was streamed completely online in a dark theater with no guests to prevent anymore Corona virus outbreaks from public gatherings. On the other hand, Dolce Gabbana's fashion show in Milan was held, but many guests wore face masks to protect from any danger, and social media influencers from China which represent about one third of the guests, were absent. Furthermore, Europeans are changing their traditional greeting to each other, by no longer kissing on the cheek, and hand sanitizer is highly used everywhere.

The outbreak of Corona virus in Europe is rapidly changing the way things are done. I found this article interesting because the external market environment is evolving in Europe. From the sociocultural aspect, people are no longer using traditional greeting methods and are communicating at a distance, and public gatherings are no longer convenient.. Technology has revolutionized the way things are being done and it is helping to transfer important events from public place to the comfort of fans at home without cancelling the event. The European economy is been affected because less tourism is promoted, specially from places that have high outbreaks in Corona virus, to keep citizen's safe, and on the political side, it is affecting how Europe will prevent that individuals come from other European countries with open borders and high outbreaks of the virus.

  1. Many countries did not expect to be impacted by the coronavirus. Many businesses and events are being cancelled which is hurting the economy. Europe is known for the fashion shows and they invest a lot of money in their fashion shows and now they can not hold any shows.
