The New Generation of Vending Machines



There are now new vending machines in Chicago, IL known as Farmer’s Fridge, which serve healthy meal options through a fresh and efficient way. The creation of these innovative machines is different than the standard vending machines because they have increased and satisfied the consumers expectations of convenient quality. Farmer’s Fridge serves a variety of meals from parfaits, sandwiches, to salads, bowls, and even more. Not only do they ensure that their products are safe to consume by going through specific procedures, they also make, deliver, and sell their products at a quicker pace than grocery-store prepared food. 

There is also another vending machine known as Fresh Bowl which is like Farmer’s Fridge. As a part of their missions, they have incorporated a built-in recycling bin so that their consumers can dispose of the glass jar they receive in order to reduce food packaging waste. In doing so, every time the consumer recycles their jar, they receive $2 in credit for their next purchase. This does not only promote a healthier environment, but it also benefits the company by providing great service for the needs of their target market. 

I found this article truly interesting because the creation of these vending machines has introduced a new perspective of what vending machines are. With this innovative idea consumers will look forward to purchasing products from a machine that does not serve basic snacks and junk food but rather one that provides a healthy, fresh, and convenient meal.

  2. This could be an even bigger industry now with the pandemic because its easier to sanitize and there's no contact with other people. Or I wonder if it might really not take off now because people are going to want to support restaurants when they open.
