T Mobile and Sprint are negotiating terms for their merger
T-Mobile and Sprint have spent more than two years working out their merger details. When it was first announced in early 2018, T-Mobile and Sprint were valued at $146 Billion collectively. After going through the courts because several State's Attorneys sued to try to cancel the merger, the deal was accepted and allowed to move forward in early 2020. With the combination of two companies, there is bound to be some teams that will be let go as they will now be redundant. The combining of these two companies will keep T-Mobile as the third largest competitor behind Verizon and AT&T, but it will be a much stronger competitor now.
It will be interesting to see what kind of new marketing materials come out of this merger as both T-Mobile and Sprint have been releasing commercials recently that compare themselves to the two bigger companies ATT and Verizon.
I considered this article because I knew it was facing controversy in the past as it was trying to be blocked, but since its been approved I thought it would get people talking about the two companies again and I look forward to how the two will become one in the near future.
This actually makes sense for the two companies to merge because most of the former sprint customers moved to t-mobile and vice versa. Plus this will help them compete with the big name companies that they already had to compete with.
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty big since, no 2 huge telephone network companies have merged before and it will be interesting in terms of how they will market themselves but also re-branding the company overall.
ReplyDeleteVery informative, I believe that this merge between T-Mobile and Sprint will be a good deal for both companies which will now be a bigger competition to Verizon and AT&T
