Apple Continues Its Comeback Campaign, but iPhone Worries Persist

This article informs us about the projections on how iPhone’s sells will progress in the upcoming year. Apple was having a hard time because there was a decrease in sales with the previous iPhones, but the iPhone 7 was really a game changer. According to the article, “Profit in the three months through April 1 rose 4.9% to $11.03 billion—Apple’s first quarterly increase in earnings in more than a year.”
After measuring the overall performance, they found evidence that Apple was able to stabilize its sales after a decrease in the last fiscal year. Besides the sale decrease, increase in competition also participated in the fall of Apple at time. The average price of the iPhone increase from about $641 to about $655 in a year.
This year being apple’s 10th anniversary, that comes with a lot of expectations from the public.Apple also has been losing business in certain Asian countries. The article informs us that Apple’s sales in Greater China fell 14% to $10.73 billion in the quarter. The reason behind this is that apparently many iPhone users in China are keeping their iPhones for longer, waiting for a better and more impressive version to buy.
I chose this article because I found it interesting to read about apple’s product development. We can see that the Chinese consumers caused a situation that apple producers aren’t used to, and we can see the effect that one group of consumers can have on a business.
