The social network revealed its partnerships with companies BuzzFeed, Vox Media, MLB Advanced Media and Live Nation to produce a live-streaming content for the platform. The announcements come as Twitter attempts to positions themselves as a video provider for professionally-produced live video content and tap into advertising budgets typically reserved for TV.
Twitter faces competition with other already successful and commanding forces in live video content and music providers, like facebook and youtube, so twitter will have to come up with a marketing strategy to get the target market they are after.

I'm glad Twitter is partnering with BuzzFeed. I'm a fan of both and i'm excited to see what's to come in the future
ReplyDeleteIt is fascinating how web-based social media platforms are changing the way that people stream entertainment entirely. It was the topic of a discussion just a few days ago, as a matter of fact. A friend and I were discussing how the big cable providers will lose price gauged customers to web-based providers. Excited to see more football streamed live, free of charge!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great thing that twitter is looking into expending their business. I think they realize that's people's interest decreases over time with technology and that it is important to be a flexible company in this line of business
