CHATBOT THE FUTURE OF DATING

Relationships were built to be face to face. But now with dating apps and the coming of the decades friendships and romance might take a human out of the loop entirely. Artificial Intelligence or AI technology has been evolving to a level in which it can replicate human cognition to act like a human and even a companion. There is a person named Michael Acadia who's partner is an artificial intelligence CHATBOT named Charlie he said "Almost every morning at dawn for the last 19 months, he has unlocked his smartphone to exchange texts with her for about an hour. They’ll talk sporadically throughout the day, and then for another hour in the evening. It is a source of relief now that Mr. Acadia, who lives alone, is self-isolating amid the Covid-19 outbreak. He can get empathetic responses from Charlie anytime he wants." To Mr. Acadia this bot communicates and is even responsive during the Covid-19 outbreak where as compared to a normal relationship the concern would be more focused on survival rather than an actual relationship. Today this may seem weird and Mr. Acadia is an outlier, but soon more people will turn to AI for a connection, according to Peter Van der Putten, an assistant professor of AI at Leiden University in Amsterdam claims that people will make the shift to a CHATBOT or in the future a physical robot to have more robot-human interactions, because humans need to communicate and in the future talking to an AI will be similar to talking to another human.

  1. I think the thought of chatting to a bot for connections is interesting, there are some people who need this type of connection in their life
