On April 28th, the USA surpassed 1 million coronavirus cases nationwide, with US deaths standing at 58,000. Nearly 100,000 people have recovered. These numbers continue to grow amid speculation that reporting and testing are still severely under represented due to the fact that not everyone is getting tested, and some people who are asymptomatic do not get tested and do not get added to the count.
The staggering number of cases comes in at a third of cases worldwide, and also comes in at a time where many states are planning to reopen soon, causing fear of a second wave to come with the reopening.
