Facebook Launches its Answer to Zoom video

This article by Jeff Horwitz talks about Facebook creating a video chat to compete against Zoom. In the past we have seen Facebook either buy out competition like it did with Instagram to compete with the likes of SnapChat and Twitter. As many schools, jobs, and about every type of communication has moved online. Since Zoom has been the big thing everyone has been using like Instagram, Facebook could not buy it out but instead are going to create their own Zoom, "Facebook Inc. FB 2.67% is rolling out a new video-chat feature to rival Zoom, part of a suite of new offerings aimed at users kept home by the coronavirus." Facebook also stated that this new group video chat "can accommodate up to 50 people, along with additional video options for gamers and singles looking to chat with matches on Facebook Dating." I do see this being a success on Facebooks end since Zoom has been having a ton of issues with security and people interfering with meetings known as "Zoombombing" and information of Zoom stuff hitting the dark-web, it has raised everyone's concern with their safety.

This article interested me because of right now most of my classes are online and on Zoom. The virus is affecting about everyone globally and with new options coming out to communicate , with others and with classes I feel that it is important everyone has a choice on what service they would like to use.
