Deal is Soon to be Made on Small-Business Funding Agreement

Mnuchin, Democrats Say They Are Close on Small-Business Funding Agreement

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin

After the original appropriations for the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) and the Emergency Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL)  CARES ACT  were exhausted last week, senators are working to pass more funding in Washington DC. This extra funding has been called for for a number of weeks now as analysts were predicting the money to run out soon, but negotiations have been stalled due to people wanting to add different things to the bill other than strictly more money for these programs.

These programs, which were passed as the record setting $2 Trillion dollar CARES act, have been helping small business tide over and receive loans and grants in order to keep people on their payrolls. There has been some bad experiences with this as some business owners say they have not heard anything back from their bankers and unfortunately did not receive money before the funds ran out.

Progress is expected to continue and hopefully more funds are added for this important part of helping the economy restart.
