Our Zoom Future: Will Coronavirus Change Friendship Forever?

Due to the pandemic, we have all been obliged to adapt to a new lifestyle. Schools are been held online, companies have held meetings online, some individuals are having parties online, but after the pandemic is over, will it be easy to return to our normal lifestyles?
Apps like zoom have allowed everyone to keep communicating and have about their daily lives as much as possible as they used to. They have also permitted families to obtain quality time, some of which were lacking this. Before the pandemic, not many knew about zoom but now everyone is using it, however, everyone is adapting differently. It is predicted that the use of technology and video calling apps will transform how companies do business in the future, and it is predicted that some will no longer view traveling as an option because communication will be easily held through video calls across any part of the world, reducing their expenses and damage to the environment. CEO Simon Allen says that at his company, he predicts the number of employees to take advantage of the option to work from home to double after the pandemic is over. However, it has been observed by some parents that for children, apps like zoom were not the best solution. Parents have observed that their children started using zoom with excitement but as the days have been passing by, it is more and more difficult for them to concentrate and do their schoolwork, noticing the necessity of a school environment.

Whatever the case might be in the future, it is predicted that no one will be able to ignore the use of these apps, and will consider them as an alternative of doing work or communicating with others. Technology has helped us go through this challenging time and has helped many to not fall behind in their responsibilities. I chose this article because technology has become a necessity and not a luxury in our lives, especially in times like these of emergency.

  1. Hey Sonya, I enjoyed this blog and it is true that since the corona-virus all our lives have practically changed the way we communicate with friends and loved ones. Before this pandemic I was not even aware of Zoom and Blackboard online video for school, this has been a good alternative to going instead going to class due to the situation and talking to family. As this alternative has come to play we may see how business in run even after this pandemic ends stated in your blog "It is predicted that the use of technology and video calling apps will transform how companies do business in the future, and it is predicted that some will no longer view traveling as an option because communication will be easily held through video calls across any part of the world, reducing their expenses and damage to the environment." So what happens next will be interesting and I cannot wait and see.
