Microsoft’s New Xbox One S Won’t Play Videogame Discs

Microsoft plans to introduce a new platform, the Xbox One S. What is interesting about this new platform is that it does not require any physical discs to play. This would make it the very first console to make the switch. In the past 4 years the number of people who preferred downloads than disks have increased by 30%. This confirms market availability and allows Microsoft to go digital.

Video Games are proving to be on the same path as movies and music. Downloads have become a blessing for publishers. No shipping and packaging brought in much bigger wages. Many say the straight “game-streaming” will be the future. Players will be able to pick any game and play it instantly. It is also predicted that all games will be digitalized by 2022. It seems that the only reason why everyone isn't making the switch is because of game download seizes.

They are simply too large for a small console. Many say they make the switch because discs and cards are easier to lose and scratch. This also makes it very convenient for people to switch in between games without having to get up. Other brands will have to make the switch soon if they want to keep up with Microsoft.
