Mayur Gupta, vice president of growth and marketing at Spotify Technology SA, is joined the prepared-meal subscription startup Freshly as chief marketing officer. Mr. Gupta joined Freshly while a heard of companies are stressing to bring high-quality food to homes at affordable prices.
                     According to the article, “The prepared-meal services have to contend not only with logistics and distribution challenges but competition from restaurant delivery startups, meal-kit services and, of course, home cooking, restaurant takeout and eating out.” There is an opportunity for companies that sell prepared if they focus on health, price, convenience and data.
                     Marketing is a vital part for these companies such as Freshly. Whether it’s meal kits for restaurants or prepared food for families, these companies still have labor costs and high distribution costs. One of the most difficult challenges is the “customer acquisition and retention.”
