There Are Five Different Races in Streaming TV. Here’s Where Apple Fits In.
This article is particularly interesting as Apple is about to jump in on the TV/Streaming side of business, competing with brands such as Amazon, Hulu, and Google to name a few. There are at least five different categories in which companies in this industry are fighting to compete for customers attention and money. There are some products such as Roku who host the services on their device for customers to view subscription based services such as Netflix and Hulu, and others such as Dish Network that prove online versions of cable. Apple has had a product known as Apple TV which allows you to download many of these services from their own App Store, but that just wasn't enough.
It is time for Apple to really dig deeper and introduced recently their updated product, Apple TV+. With Apple TV plus, much like Hulu and Netflix, they will have their own original tv shows, with actors like Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon, to create the ultimate experience for their customers. These two shows, "The Morning Show," and "For All Mankind" that they have teased will be directed by one of the best storytellers, Steven Spielberg. With the Apple TV+ they are introducing ad free streaming service to replace regular cable which will create a great competitive advantage against other companies.
I believe that with the launch of this new product/service, Apple will be able to steal the show in the TV/Streaming industry, being a trillion dollar company and having such customer loyalty that will follow the new movement.
