U.S. Car Buyers to Japan: We Don’t Want Your Sedans Anymore
In the past decades Japanese auto makers were very successful in North America selling their products. They thought North Americans would buy Japanese cars and enjoy their sedans for another decades. However, it was not right; people are not interested in Japanese sedans anymore. So, it made Toyota, Honda, and Nissan companies’ sales drop down. The reason for this big drop is the popularity of Sport Utility Vehicles.
According to research, trucks and SUVs are getting popular in North America, because of low gas price, and also big cars have more space compare to sedans. However, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan believe that their sedans will get popularity again when gas price will increase, because sedans still have better fuel efficiency. The only problem they have is crossovers, because at the same time crossers have fuel efficiency and the space that most of the North Americans want.
This article was interesting to me, because I had Toyota Camry. And it was really fuel efficient. However, being a fan of German cars, I am not interested in Japanese cars any more.
