Hemp is actually not the same thing as marijuana. Hemp is a non intoxicating cousin to marijuana. The plants do look very similar, however, hemp will not get you high. So don't go try and smoke your new hemp T- shirt.

This is an interesting topic and innovation because of all the stigma which has surrounded the plant for so many years. However, the aversion to marijuana and hemp is shrinking and actually has a large fan group even outside of recreational pot smokers. people are starting to see its benefits and embracing the new trend. what we have here is an example of a new product. In Hemp's case, they already have a target market who will be interested in buying it. In addition, the new look and feel of the fabric will bring more customers from different market groups as well.
I do not know if you have heard, but hemp has made news in Texas. On Friday, it was removed from the banned/ restricted substance list. The main reason was for farmers like mentioned in the article. It is great hearing how the stigma behind marijuana is fading. Texas still has a long way to go. But what has happened is a step in the right direction. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this article a lot because of how informative it is. Hemp can be used for so many reasons, one being clothing. When people see hemp lotion they immediately say "haha it gets you high" which is not the case. I think this article does a good job at explaining why it is highly sought after.
